August 2, 2008 Show:

Update 7/30/2008:  Please be in you dance cloth at dress rehearsal at 1pm on Saturday, so that we can rehearsal in your stage cloth, with sunglasses, tango wrap...etc.  Please bring a bag so that you can put all your stage prop stuff in there and set in the entry lines behind the curtains.  The Dressing room can be used to store your bags, don't put valuable things in your bags, as there are no locks, just your street cloth, shoes, stage props, make up bags, extra panty hose, hair pieces.... The standard dress code for us dancers for Saturday is classic, dressy, "The Elegant Look": Men, white shirt and black pants (leave your jacket off when you dance),,Ladies, half length dresses with nude panty hose...  Dressy boots fine, dressy hats fine, clean and shine your shoes....  If you are wearing short skirt, make sure you wear dancers underpants plus panty hose.  Overall look, new, shiny, clean up, polish, dressy, classic, Elegant! The following message is for lady dance/performers and want-to-be lady dance performers, You choice, if you want, the make up for August 2 you can use is Stage Make Up, mean the Heavy Side of Make Up with Glue-On Eye Lashes.  If you need help, please let me know and I will demo for you this evening and also put make up for you on Saturday at Dress Rehearsal.  Please bring your own set of make up, especially Eye shadow and Lip sticks, I have a few extra pair of eye lashes, if you dare to use them... We will rehearse for two hours and you are free to either go home and hang around in San Jose, downtown, in restaurants... (bring street cloth so that you can change into them and go eat without worry about dripping food on your stage cloth)  I am going home to Cupertino to do my hair, make up, dress in my dance cloth and bring the rest of my evening cloth with me to the show (street cloth/shoes, a ballroom dance outfit and another country dance dressy outfit) by 6pm.   At 6:30pm, at the back stage, we will run through a couple more times our show routine with no music (very low volume music), so after you enter the front door  with your dance cloth and make up ready to go, go to the backstage right away!  We will be there waiting for you. At popular demands, I have scheduled another rehearsal this Thursday and Friday night at the Rodeo Club, Back Room, from 6pm to 8pm, short and sweet, run through our routines non-stop.

Update July 24, 2008:  Due to popular demand, I am adding another practice (this Sunday, from 10am to 4pm) and another rehearsal (next Tuesday, 7-10pm).  SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS.  I am also working on a updated YouTube video for the last segment (Finale) and will let you know when I complete this.  I am finalizing on the dancers line up and will publish it here on page: Dancers Line Up in the next few days.  It's critical that you attend the next two Rehearsals so that we can practice as a group and make sure our performance runs smoothly.  At next week's rehearsal, July 29, 2008, I will watch you dance.  Base upon your dance presence, I will have the final dancers line up, including the positions of the the dancers, 1st line, 2nd line and so forth.  Only those who have learned the dance and can dance without looking at anyone else will be on the final dancers line up, especially for segment 1 and 4, the advanced line dance segments. So, you have one week to really learn the practice the dances that you want to perform in.  Thank you for your understanding and hard work.

I have also decided to change our stage entering and exiting format.  After the perfomrance, the dancers will walk towards the back of the stage and will stay there, just clap and cheer like they are part of the audience and watch other dancers performing until their turns to perform.  The last Segment, She Bangs, all the performers will do this segments with loud and exciting presence.  I recut the music for this segment already so that we can do Tush Push twic completely with a loud clap and yell "FINE" at the end, with legs part and arms extended spread out.  I am working on a new YouTube Video of this segment and will let you know when I have complete this.

BY THE WAY:  This may not be our last performance, I am getting words that we may be invited to perform in other situations, such as company parties, community centers, college dance shows....etc..  I will let you know more, as I learn more.... Also, The Headline Comcast Local Editions Interview with Maggie Scura will air in August, '08.  I will send email to let you know when it will air.
